As a sleep aid, it should be taken shortly before bedtime, or 3x a day to relieve anxiety. It lowers blood pressure and aids stress management. It is also taken to ease menstrual pain and stomach cramps.
Side effects: headache, upset stomach, and abnormal heartbeat. Should not be taken with other sedatives or antidepressants or while driving.
